Life at Holy Cross- Vol. 5
God's own child
This Sunday at Holy Cross we had a baptism. Every baptism is special but I like adult baptisms the best. Welcome to this big, wonderful family of God, James!
We have a tradition of inviting all the children of the congregation up to the front so that they can witness the baptism up close. Some were squirmy bit most were very interested to watch as God placed His name on James and made him one of his own.

A church garden party?
I'm not sure what's supposed to happen at a garden party, let alone a church garden party. I'm pretty sure it's not what happens at Schrute Farms. We sort of had a garden party this week. A small art exhibit called Tend was up in our Bridge House gallery and so we made an evening out of it. We started in the gallery and enjoyed some Tend-themed cookies and looked at all the beautiful garden-inspired pieces. Then we made our way out to the garden where Pastor Bob read some scripture and my husband, Pastor Paul, used his guitar to lead us through some hymns. It was a beautiful evening and the heat and humidity were uncommonly low.
